New software version : this is now Jaguar V2.3

The EVITECH company is proud to announce the new version of its Jaguar software, referenced to as V2.3, which is under final beta tests at our support teams.

This new version brings major innovations for the installation of Jaguar on big sites, as well as for the integration of latest market sensors characteristics  :

  • Automatic generation of exhaustive software configuration reports (in PDF format) : the old fashioned saving of software configuration data on a long term support is no more the unique conservation solution. When the long term storage on an optical or magnetic support is risky, and when data replication on a distributed network is not accessible to small organisms, the need of a visible and testable reference is strong. In particular, such a reference would allow to detect progressive evolutions of configuration due to successive small modifications, even by an authorized person. Willing to propose as usual repeteability, proof, transparency, and traceability, EVITECH proposes today a new tool for the automatic generation of a PDF document report, for a camera, a server, or a whole site. It can be printed on paper and used as a formal reception document, at any time judged necessary by the Security Officer. This document is a proof which enables the control of the stability of a configuration, and its reproducibility when necessary, even from a new Jaguar software installation on a new server.

  • Ensuring the continuity of the surveillance over thermal cameras, without false alarms, in case of strong Non Uniformity Corrections (NUC) : the Jaguar software would resist to the short strong contrast and luminance evolution (see the picture here with an image splitted into before/after stripes) that a thermal camera can generate. Other processing policies proposed by competitors consisting in detecting the NUC process and suspending surveillance a while, and then restarting after the correction, did not seem acceptable for us, because they introduce a lack of security.
  • Multiple commands : the software allows to execute simultaneously several settings on all or part of the cameras of a site in one sole clic ! An important saving of configuration time.
  • Simplification and extension of behaviour alarm condition description : the selection of the proper conditions between the 3D position and the target position in the image plan have been unified and extended, for a simpler and quicker configuration.
  • Mute events (internal) are now proposed, for automate systems (SAS control, multiple camera crossed controls), or for preconditions managed as events.
  • relational SGBD-like request tool is available for assisting the user in the quick search of events in log tables.
  • The digital video acquisition and particularly H.264 is improved and extended, with compression functions available directly at acquisition.
  • Image rotation or upside down inversion are also available functions for optimizing camera installation conditions, or camera image surface when necessary (upside down camera installation, or vertical image surveillance when monitoring in the length of a fence or a wall).

At last, as a complement to tracking functions already available in V2.2 version (this V2.2 exo-tracking aims at identifying the individual, by providing a zoomed image on the target), a new auto-tracking function is now available in V2.3.

This new function is complementary to the exo-tracking function by providing an interesting information which replies to the question : "Where did the trepasser go in my site ?". The new target auto-tracking function in the V2.3 Jaguar version is presented here in its first version (limited to P, T tracking, for the moment), and enabling to track an individual beyond the fixed control camera field of view. It tracks the target inside the site, thanks to a dome which relays the perimeter detection, and follows its progression in the site.

We go on these works now by adding the automatic zoom drive, so Jaguar will be able to continue tracking the target even if it goes far away from the fence.

Here is short information and feedback on Jaguar V2.2 today :

  • hundreds of V2.2 installed cameras,
  • an average rate of 0.5 false alarm per camera . day on V2.2 installed sites, and even one every 20 days on a site under experimental control procedure in 2011,
  • 75% of these projects address intruder detection (against 85% in V2.1),
  • 10% of these projects concern city or public open spaces surveillance (new thematics),
  • other projects concerning unique acces control in SAS, Oil & Gas process surveillance, and fire start detection.
