EVITECH announces Jaguar V2.2

A new version of the video content analysis product for highly sensitive sites.

Orsay may, 5, 2009: EVITECH announce the outcoming of the new version of its product JAGUAR, version V2.2. This new version intrudces a set of new functionalities for intelligent video surveillanc eof sensitive sites, and integrates multiple novelties like modes, displays, ergonomics, among which :

New possibilities for combining detections among several sensors…

This new mechanism allows to define alarm conditions based on several basic alarms on two or several cameras, in order to produce combined alarms. It also allows to combine a detection from another system (door contact, fence, or any) with an alarm of a camera, so that the alarm is sent only in case of multiple detection.

This kind of mechanism is essential for very big sites or for unmanned sites, so that only efficient alarms are raised, and false alarms are minimized. It allows to build sophisticated surveillance scenarios concerning the whole site and not only one view of a site zone. In the future, it will be possible to transmit the personalized signature of a target from one caméra to the other, and thus to focus the tracking of targets on multiple cameras on the site.

…That improves the guaranteed false alarme rate (less than 2 false alarms per day and per camera).

From a basic false alarm rate of less than 2 per day and per camera for one single video channel, the simultaneous use of two detection systems allows to decrease that rate to several false alarms per year (around 4), which is the solution for a set of operators on the market (wind electrical power generators, drinkwater installations, ...).

A major progress in dome drive

Another innovation concerns the possibility to drive video domes so that they focus on an alarm target detected on a camera, from another point of view. Jaguar 2.2 can monitor a scene from a fixed camera, and, when an alarm occurs, drive a dome installed at another place directly on the target.

From a simple calibration of several points of the scene, a new algorithm based on a complex space triangular retro projection has been designed in order to calculate the best (P, T, Z) position of the dome that allows to have the full target well seen at the middle of the image, and this even if the dome is on the opposite side of the camera from the target point of view !

This solution is really appreciated by customers in combination with the outstanding one-pixel-target detection function of Jaguar, allows to monitor the surroundings of a big site (like an airport) from thermal cameras of less than 15° field, distant from 500 to 800 meters one to the other. Video monitoring reveals the target position downto a one pixel size, while automatic PTZ zoom from the dome allows to identify the suspect (person, car, or even a wild animal !).

New sales in France and Europe

JAGUAR 2.2 is currently deployed for several recent projects won by EVITECH in France and Holland, and particularly the protection of an important Police center, and a wide historical patrimonial site.

The comapny is in discussion with a major player of the security market for the development of an integrated system ensuring the full monitoring (detection, confirm, tracking) of very big multiple-actors zones, like harbours. Finally, EVITECH solutions contribute to the protection of the Euro money making process.

« Able to manage video signals coming from a great variety of sources (visible, thermal, analog, IP ... cameras), our product provides a behavioral analysis in real time of events occuring on image, with capacity levels of sensitivity, precision, and reliability never reached for an optimal anti-intruder protection." resumes Eric Paul, Director R&D of EVITECH.
